Wissenschaftliche Mitarbeiterin am Fachgebiet Landschaftsarchitektur.Freiraumplanung in Lehre und Forschung 2004 – 2009 / 2013-2014 / 2015-2020.

Kathrin Wieck setzt sich analytisch und konzeptionell mit den interaktiven Mechanismen der Raumproduktion in urbanen Systemen vor dem Hintergrund multipler Urbanisierungsbedingungen auseinander. Dabei stehen insbesondere die Sichtbarmachung und Entwicklung der wechselseitigen und variablen Beziehungen des urbanen Raums im Allgemeinen und des Freiraums im Speziellen im Mittelpunkt ihres wissenschaftlichen Interesses. Diesen Ansatz vermittelt sie in der Lehre vor allem methodisch an der Schnittstelle zwischen theoretisch-konzeptioneller Wissensproduktion und analytisch-entwerferischer Praxis. Ihr besonderes Interesse gilt den räumlichen Entwicklungen urbaner Informalität in Brasilien und dem methodischen Ansatz von Henri Lefebvre.

Forschungsschwerpunkte: Mechanismen der Raumproduktion, Urbane Informalität, Methoden transdisziplinärer Forschung, Assemblage

Vorgelegte Dissertation ‘Die Interaktivität von Raum informeller Siedlungen‘. Die Arbeit beinhaltet die Entwicklung einer Methode zur Entschlüsselung dynamischer Akteur-Raum-Beziehungen am Beispiel des Favelakomplexes Manguinhos, Rio de Janeiro.
