Theory and methodology
ANT & Assemblage – Methods for landing on Earth
In the seminar ‚Methods of Landing on Earth‘ – we will have a closer look at actor-network (ANT) and assemblage theories. Both center around actors, networks, relationships, engagement and processes. Afterwards, we will follow a selection of contemporary writers and scientists who are influenced by network theories but focus on their writing and thoughts on specific non-human actors like soil, plants, animals, water and air. The seminar encourages us to understand non-human actors differently and will discuss how theoretical insights can translate to design. The course will start on the 18th of October at 12.00 in room EB 315!
The course will be in dual language English & German.
