The Master’s Program in Urban Design at the TU Berlin was the first of its kind to be implemented in Germany. The four institutes of Architecture, Landscape Architecture, City and Regional Planning and Sociology have conceived the core courses together and teach in close cooperation. Against the backdrop of the challenges that cities face worldwide the four involved institutes have recognized the necessity to practice interdisciplinarity and bring teaching and global research activities together.

This inter- and transdisciplinary program turns 10 years old this year. We celebrate this anniversary by creating different settings where international guests, Urban Design graduates, teachers and students can discuss their understanding of the interdisciplinary field of urban design as well as the future role of the urban professional. As a first approach to the discussion Urban Design Students Hisar Ersöz and Martha Wegewitz will moderate a flash game, followed by videotaped messages from urban Design Alumnis. Oliver Bormann (yellow z urbanism architecture), Anne Doose (GIZ), Martina Löw (TU Berlin), Philipp Misselwitz (TU Berlin) and Deane Simpson (kadk) have been invited for a panel discussion moderated by the dean of studies, Undine Giseke.
